Views and whalewatching. On a windfree day sit outside and look out over the ocean, during whaleseason you might spot a whale otherwise dolphins during any time of the year. The inside is cosy and the food always freshly prepared and of great quality. This is one of our personal favourites in Hermanus.

If you want to have lunch in season or over a weekend be sure to book and try their daily specials. They make the best bitterballen, the owner is from Amsterdam! In summer its also a great place for a sundowner.
Good coffee and the best bread in town. Enjoy breakfast or lunch here. Take away quiches and tarts are delicious.

If a good steak is what you are after we highly recommend this place. The steaks are consistently good, the service always with a smile and no corkage on wine if you would like to BYO. It is part of a chain but they are well-known for using quality cuts.

You can enjoy farmed abalone and various fish dishes and enjoy great local wines. When booking ask for a table on the rocks. Watch a beautiful sunset on a perfect day.

Fick's setting is just wonderful. Great for cocktails or a chilled glass of wine. Small plates and flammkuchen is on the menu. Beautiful views and a tidal pool completes the picture. Weather dependant so check online before you go.

Hermanus is a nature lovers paradise, not only do we have spectacular beaches but we have the mountain with plenty scenic trails to choose from.

Great for long walks, but do check the internet for tides as it is much more comfortable to walk when its low tide. You can walk for many km's here. During low tide you can walk as far as De Kelders.

Walking, whale-watching and spectacular views. The Ciff Path is one of the must do's of Hermanus. You can walk along the sea for about 12 km's. Start your walk from town centre at the old harbour or at any of the many entrances along the seaside.

If plants and specifically the Cape Floristic Region is of interest to you. It is essential to book in advance. You will be taken on a guided walk-through and a guide will give a talk and explain all the wonders of the Fauna and Flora of the region. It is only R300.00 a head and so worthwhile. You also get to see a glimpse of the beautiful world famous Grootbos Resort.
