A bit of a drive but a really fun place for sitting on the water and picking crabs! In the summer it is packed but worth the effort.

historic Middleton's Tavern is where George Washington hung out and it is still a happenin' joint.
Live music in the bar most nights but Friday and Saturdays are the best. There is a pain bar upstairs and this guy knows every Elton John, Beatles, Beach Boys, etc song ever written. A mised crowd and lots of fun.

From November 26, 1783 to June 3, 1784, when Annapolis served as capital to the newly forming American nation, the Continental Congress met in Annapolis, and consequently important events took place at the State House.
Here, George Washington resigned his commission as commander in chief of the Continental Army on December 23, 1783. Here, too, the Treaty of Paris, ending the Revolutionary War, was ratified by Congress on January 14, 1784.
