Limehouse basin is a marina next to the Thames, beautiful and full of house boats. From there you can either walk by the canals, or walk on the Thames path towards Tower Bridge. It's simply wonderful!

I suggest you to go for a walk on the South Bank of the Thames, from London Bridge / the Shard towards Westminster. It takes more or less one hour, but you will see many beautiful buildings and landmarks of London. You will pass by the Southbank Centre, TATE Modern, St. Paul's Cathedral, and many many others.
