If you're here on a weekday, then I'd suggest trying to stop in for a menu del dia which will get you a first plate, second plate, bread, drink, desert (2nd desert) and a digestif for - €10!

Although I hate to admit that I like it - as it seems a bit too gentrified for Raval - Caravelle does good soul food and has a welcoming atmosphere.

Less of a pizzeria and more of an everythingeria - I guarantee you will leave here feeling stuffed (and maybe a bit tipsy) for less that €10. The opposite of posh, but the quirky decor makes up for it

Worth the trek - if you can call it that - to the barrio by the sea. Deep fried, deep sea creatures for every palate.

Off the beaten path - these old civil war fortifications offer fantastic views over the city. It's a bit of a trek up (so you'd better bring some wine to rehydrate). Metro to Alfons X and climb!

Eat your heart out, Park Guell. This Barcelona gem offers serene garden walkways, views of the city and a hedge maze. However, unlike Park Guell it doesn't offer mariachi bands and pan flutes.
