A lovely cathedral city with a lot of historic interest. There are many ancient buildings but also a shopping centre with a good range of stores. the city has many restaurants and cafes to sit and rest.

The property has a number of open rooms and a very good art collection. The grounds are extensive with various gardens within the estate. There is a good cafe and gift shop.

The caost is stunning with Durdle Door and Old Harry Rocks being two notable features. The sea is known for its crystal clarity and is well used by kayakers and paddle boarders.

A lovely little museum full of art and curios collected by Sir Merton and his wife in the 1800s during their travels. There are often additional art exhibitions within the museum and there is a shop and cafe for refreshments.
