I knew Phil when his original coffee shop was still just a corner store. It was clear that he was destined for bigger things, and he's done it! Some say it's the best in the Bay Area, and now it's expanding to other cities. Go there to have fantastic coffee - my favorite is the Tesora with cream, sugar and a mint leaf.

This store has been around since I was a kid. The owner is the most knowledgeable chocolate expert around, and he's also extremely friendly. Small store packed with high end as well as basic chocolates and unique gifts: lunch boxes and other boxes with SF street and destination prints. I love this place.

Small store packed with high end as well as basic chocolates and unique gifts: lunch boxes and other boxes with SF street and destination prints. I love this place.
You want to make a reservation for this treat. They do have walk-in hours, so it's possible to enjoy this lovely place without a reservation if you're not a huge party, especially during the week.
This is another place that's been around forever, and has been serving English tea service in a San Francisco laid-back atmosphere. High tea for two is really fun and gives you the perfect experience of endless pots of tea, yummy sandwiches, fresh warm scones, and sugar cookies. I've gone there over the years with babies, kids, and just adults, and have always had a great time.

They have great rental departments for bikes as well as ski gear and ski clothes. There a few locations, so look them up to find the best one for you. They also have a really nice selection of bags of all sorts and stylish and comfortable street wear and shoes. This is a real SF retail experience- laid back, huge stores with friendly staff, and coffee!
