If you're going to go to a dive bar, this is the one. It's not really a dive bar, well, OK it is, but it's friendly (and dog-friendly) the drinks are cheap, and the juke box is the. best. ever.

This is why I love Providence. What other city has a mom and pop bar right on the water? Sit on the deck and watch the sunset. Go ahead and have a burger: they're handmade and grilled on a Weber. $5!

It's funky and cool retro looking, and on the main drag of the west side so get a drink here and sit out side. moscow mules in a frosty copper mug, or something with an umbrella in it. mmm.

A truly great vintage store in a city with GREAT vintage stores. They have clothes, glassware, linens, furniture, and books. the owners are really nice folks--make sure you visit when on the West Side

Like something out of Harry Potter. This place is so cool. Give a call when you’re outside and the receptionist will come let you in. They’re really nice to the public and it’s unique and worth a visit

Absolutely beautiful interior and worth a pop in. One of the country’s oldest private libraries, its open to the public but you can’t take out books unless you’re a member. Dog friendly, too!

7 minute walk from our house, 5 if you’re hungry. They have great burgers but my favorite thing is their bibimbop. So good! Outdoor seating in summer, too.
