They have excellent food, small bar and friendly locals and staff. Outdoor seating with fire pit in the summer. They serve lunch noon - 2pm, then open again for dinner at 5pm.

My first choice for dinner! For a fun atmosphere, good food and company, Moon's is a great choice. Family friendly, with outdoor seating in the summer. Features American/Italian food; pizza, lasagna, burgers, steaks, salads and killer garlic bread. Wine and beer, live entertainment occasionally.

Belden is an eclectic gathering place. The drive to Belden from the Inn is stunning as you wind down the Feather River Scenic Hwy. You can hang out on the deck overlooking the Feather River and enjoy a cocktail and bar food. The Pacific Crest Trail passes through Belden, bringing with it a colorful array of adventure seekers. You can catch a few trails in Belden that are beautiful. In addition to a bar and restaurant, they have a lodge and a small mini-market where hikers tend to stock up on supplies. You can swim in their small beach and use it as a launching point for your kayak or inner tube.

It's not a winery, but a wine bar, and they have an excellent selection. They have live music every Friday evening and it's always a fun time. Bottled beer and other non-alcoholic beverages too. The Knook, which is in the same compound, will deliver tasty food to you while you enjoy your wine and company. Summer is better suited to families, with their outdoor seating.

You can catch a couple of hiking trails out at Oakland Camp. Just hanging out at Spanish Creek is a joy. You can picnic, swim, and fish. I can lead you out there and point out the trail heads.

The lake is beautiful, a well known spot to many in the Bay Area for fishing, boating and swimming. There are a few lodges and camping spots that are fun. It's only 17 miles from the Inn. We take visiting family up there for a quick lake fix.

Indian Falls is a stunning location and a relatively short hike from the parking area. Just past the turn off toward Lake Almanor. This is an ideal spot for a picnic and to hang out and swim.

We like Prattville at Lake Almanor. It feels like a step back into a slower time. There is a beach there that is fun to hang out for the whole family, picnic and swim. The water is a lovely royal blue. The view to Lassen Volcanic National Park Mountains is stunning.
