Delicious Portuguese restaurant that has both a smaller, faster dining side that includes a bar with a few TVs, and a more formal dining side. There is also a takeout section. This restaurant is always packed, especially for dinner. The food is delicious and authentic.

This is a takeout only BBQ shop. They offer a few items on the menu, but honestly I always get the ribs or a full chicken. An order of either is around $12 and includes rice and french fries. Plenty of tasty, fresh food for a fantastic price.

Drinks & Nightlife
The Ironbound has a heavy concentration of Portuguese immigrants and descendants. It is arguably the nicest part of Newark. I put this under "drinks & nightlife" but there are tons of delicious, authentic restaurants here. Go to Ferry Street.

Getting Around
If you want to go to New York, this is easily the best option. Catch any train here and it will end in New York Penn Station after about a 30 minute ride.

This is near Liberty State Park. It is a rather large science center that has a lot of exhibits and interactive activities. It is a great place to bring kids.
