The location and stunning views from Buda across to Pest makes this restaurant special - as does the interior architecture. Be ready to have much pomp in the presentation of the food and drinks as it is their tradition (ex trios of waiters all pulling off the silver domed plate covers at the same time - etc...) Fairy tale fortress. Thanks to the unparalleled panorama from its neo-Roman lookout terraces, it is one of the most notable tourist attractions. Its main facade, parallel to River Danube, is about 140 metres long, so you can enjoy the view in the frame of the small stroll. Its cone-topped stone towers symbolize the 7 Magyar chieftains who once led the invasion of the Carpathian Basin and settled down the nation here. The name of the building dates from the Middle Ages, when this section of the castle wall was defended by the fishers' guild. Since 1987, Fishermen's Bastion has been one of the World Heritage sites in Budapest.***https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fisherman**

The square is named after the Trinity column (Szentháromság oszlop), a large plague column that was built between 1710 and 1713 to a Baroque design by Philipp Ungleich. The column was built to celebrate the end of the plague and citizens hoped that it would protect them from another epidemic. The sculpture at the top represents the Holy Trinity. It sits on a sturdy pillar decorated with statues of little angels and - below - large statues of saints. The column rests on a large pedestal adorned with bas-reliefs and the Hungarian crest.

Buda Castle Hill Funicular (Budavári Sikló) has been in service since 1870. Its construction was initiated by Ödön Széchenyi, son of the statesman Count István Széchenyi. Back then, this was the second of its kind in Europe. It was admitted to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1987 as a distinctive element of the Danube bank of Budapest. It runs on a 95-meter route of 50 meters elevation between Clark Ádám Square and the Sándor Palace. Although the Funicular is operated by the Budapest Transport Privately Held Corporation, the ordinary public-transport single tickets and passes are not valid for riding. It is a highly popular attraction, so be prepared for queues. Openings 7.30-22

Elisabeth’s sympathy for the Hungarians even benefited the Austro-Hungarian Empire as Hungarians returned her affection, strengthening peace between the dynasty and the nation. Several sites in Hungary were named after her, two of Budapest's districts; Erzsébetváros and Pesterzsébet bear her name, and most famously, Elisabeth Bridge. Named after one of the major supporters and facilitators of its construction, the bridge was the first permanent bridge between Buda and Pest and also the first one across the Danube. Built between 1839 and 1849, when Budapest started to evolve from a dusty Central-European town to a vibrant metropolis and has symbolized the connection between East and West, progress and development. Its construction was supervised by Adam Clark. The chief investor was Baron György Sina, Viennese banker. At the beginning, everyone - including noblemen - had to pay a toll for crossing; the toll was lifted in 1918.

Thanks to its height of 526 meters, the top of János Hill (János-hegy) is the highest point of Budapest. It is a popular destination among hikers, mountain bikers, runners, Nordic walkers, and families. On top of János Hill stands the Erzsébet Lookout Tower, built in 1910, whence you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the city. In clear weather you can see as far as 80 kilometers away, and locals claim that in certain atmospheric conditions even the peaks of the High Tatra Mountains are visible in the distance. Take bus 291 from the Nyugati Railway Station, and when reaching the last stop, change for the Chairlift, which will take you up the hill, to the vicinity of the Lookout Tower.

Gemstone rising above the skyline of Buda with its 235 metres. Nestled between the Elizabeth Bridge and the Liberty Bridge, part of the World Heritage since 1987. Its most famous cave, Saint Ivan's Cave hides the Szent Gellért rock chapel. Gellért Hill is one of the top tourist attractions of the city thanks to the magnificent panorama from the top of its cliffs facing the Danube. The latter passes a playground known for its slides, which is popular with children (and some adults as well).

Under Buda Castle there are a network of natural tunnels, chambers and secrets lurking below that were once inhabited in prehistoric times. And there are some dark tales haunting these caves. One famous legend is that Vlad Tepes, known better to you and me as Dracula, was once tortured and imprisoned here. A visit to the Buda Castle Labyrinth offers a rather campy trip, complete with smoke machines and wax figures, but for an extra spooky experience come back after 6, when you can explore the caves by just the light of an oil lantern. Spooky! Open: Monday-Sunday: 10am-7pm. HUF 2,000 (full-price) or HUF 1,500HUF children HUF 600. Address: 1014 Budapest Úri Street 9/10.***http://www.labirintus

Gül Baba (The Father of Roses) was an Ottoman Bektashi dervish poet and Sultan Suleiman’s companion. Details about his life have faded into the past, but it is known that he was a well-respected figure. Gül Baba died in Buda in 1541, and, according to the legend, the Sultan himself was among his coffin bearers. After his death, he was declared the patron saint of Budapest, and his tomb, the northernmost site of Islamic pilgrimage in the world, was erected on today’s Rózsadomb (Hill of Roses), a short but steep walk from Margaret Bridge up to Rózsadomb, which means "The Hil of Roses"***w.museum.hu/museum/27/Tomb_of_Gul_Baba_and_Rosegarden***

It was built in 1015, shortly after the country's conversion to the Christian faith. It was rebuilt in gothic style in the 14th century, and was yet again renewed in the 19th century in harmony with the designs by Frigyes Schulek. Thanks to its latest reconstruction between 2006-2013, it now stands in its old glory again. The building is a great example of Central-European gothic style. On Trinity Square, you will find the statute of the Holy King First King of Hungary, crowned on 25 December 1000 by the treasured Holy Crown of Hungary. In the history of Hungary, more than 50 kings were crowned with it, up to Charles IV in 1916. As the country’s devout Christian leader, with the support of Pope Sylvester II, St. Stephen followed the footsteps of his father, Géza – the Grand Prince of the Hungarians – and used his reign (1000 - 1038) to unite the Hungarian people as a Christian citizenry, a commitment that often involved fierce punishment to those who refused to accept the king’s faith. Nonetheless, St. Stephen was in power over a peaceful and prosperous period of 40 years

As the name suggests, it was the port connecting the Castle with the highway to Vienna. During the Middle Ages it was called Szombat-kapu (Saturday Gate), because markets were held in front of it every Saturday. It has been called Becs kapuszu by the Ottomans. Later it became Zsidó-kapu (Jewish Gate). One of its two side-gates were removed in the early 19th century, and in 1896, the whole gate was demolished. The current gate was restored in 1936, commemorating the 250th anniversary of Recapturing of Buda.

Most emblematic architectural masterpieces, home to the kings of Hungary from the 13th century. Medieval walls and a few buildings have survived from that period, but the district underwent a major transformation according to deisgns by Miklós Ybl and Alajos Hauszmann in the 19th century. The rooms and halls of the Royal Palace were not reconstructed, and the building today functions as a complex, modern cultural institution. It is home to the Hungarian National Gallery, the National Széchényi Library and the Budapest History Museum. The annual Buda Castle Wine Festival is also held here, in addition to several other events of culture and gastronomy.

The Zero Kilometre Stone is a 3 m high limestone sculpture in Budapest, forming a zero sign, with an inscription on its pedestal reading "KM" for kilometres. This stone marks the reference point from which all road distances to Budapest are measured in the country. The reference point had initially been located at the threshold of Buda Royal Palace, but was moved to its present location by Széchenyi Chain Bridge when the crossing was completed in 1849.

The Invisible Exhibition is one of the most visited programs in the city – it is an experience of a lifetime for anyone, regardless of their gender or age. Here, we can “look around” in a different way, with the help of a blind group leader, and experience what it is like to rely on hearing, sense of balance and touch only, for one hour. In the foyer of the Invisible Exhibition at Millenáris Park, we can also study Braille writing and other everyday objects for blind or visually impaired people. Moreover, if you become captivated by the world of darkness, more special programs await you, like a blind massage, feast or wine tasting.***http://www.lathatatlan.hu/en/***

Millenáris, next to the Mammut Mall, is a park and a venue for exhibitions, plays, concerts and performances. The location is actually the reconstructed site of the one-time Ganz Electric Works, and you still can see the parts of machinery that were used here. Today it is a modern recreation center with exhibition halls, an underground parking lot, a playground, a park, ponds, cafés, and a theater in the heart of Buda, or for free-time activities, relaxation, and indoor and outdoor events. The park will be expanded, renovated and enhanced with various services in 2017, but until then, the playground, the playhouse and park can all be visited, as there will only be a few partial close downs
