Pingala is a vegan café in the Chace Mill that is a quick walk from River House. Our good friend Trevor Sullivan runs it, be sure to say hello! Excellent views of the Winooski River, beautiful decor and delicious vegan food. Definitely try the Green is Good smoothie. Expensive but the fresh ingredients are worth it. Tiny Thai is one of my favorite restaurants, it is always delicious, affordable and fresh. Tiny This is a 20 minute walk (5 min drive) from River House. Bring your own alcohol, no fee, and they will provide the glasses. Only downside is that Tiny Thai is so good that it is always packed! Expect a wait even when getting take out. Waterworks is all about the atmosphere. It’s worth a trip just to see the space, it is spacious and glorious, recently remodeled, with sweeping views of the falls. In fact, you can see their merry lights across the water from River House! There is often live music and a hopping bar scene. Summer is a great time to enjoy their outdoor seating with specialty cocktails and flatbreads. The food is ok but you are really paying for the beautiful space and views and that is more than worth it.

Entertainment & Activities
This is a 10 minute drive from River House but parking may take some time. Church St is closed off to traffic for a chunk of downtown and you can stroll down its cobblestone street, grab an ice cream, coffee, shop, eat a meal or people watch. In the summer there are street festivals and you will always find plenty to do. Hours will pass by quickly on the marketplace and everything you need is right there.

This is a 10 minute drive from River House but parking may take some time. Laughing River Yoga is down the hall from Pingala in the Chace Mill. It’s a nice place to drop in for a restful yoga class with views of the river. There are difficult (Vinyasa and Kripalu) and chill (Yin) classes - my favorite teacher is Emily but her classes fill up quickly.
