My favorite in the Park are San Francisco Botanical Garden, Japanese Tea Garden, Rose Garden, Huntington Falls in Strawberry Hill, the Shakespeare Garden, the Dutch windmill, the De Young Museum, Music Concourse vicinity, Buffalo paddock, The Academy of Science, the trees, the air, the paths to ride your bike. The park is so large! Rent a bike (the price was comparable at $8/hr) and ride through the park to the Ocean beach. I think you can rent segways too--saw a whole family ride with them.

The Presidio is a secret place most locals knows about. You are not a local unless you pass through here. There are endless places to hike, jog, run, or simply ride your bicycle. If you love photography, the sunrise and sunsets here overlooking Golden Gate Bridge is breathtaking. Also, visit the most Beautiful Baker's Beach and hike along towards Golden Gate Bridge all walking distance from the house.

Whereas the de Young has an amazing American art collection, the Legion of Honor focuses on European art (my preference). From there visit Land's end trail with fantastic Golden Gate Bridge Views.

It has a rainforest in a dome terrarium, underground-ish aquarium, and living roof that is fascinating to see.

Start your exploration with a trip up the elevator to Hamon Observation Tower, 360 degrees of glass walls providing views of Cal Academy of Sciences, Golder Gate park, the top of Golden Gate bridge, and in the distance you can even see downtown SF. This is an epic view. In general, much of this museum is dedicated to ancient artifacts from the Americas, Africa, and Pacific/Oceanic Islands. My favourite artist there is Modigliani. Also, I loved the variety of cultures this museum provides exhibits for.
