At the centre of everything is the coffee bar, situated in the old shippon. We serve a variety of Artisan Coffees, Specialist Teas, and Milkshakes, as well as a large selection of home-baked cakes and biscuits. Looking for something a little more filling? You can also order from our extensive restaurant menu. Seating is limited in the coffee bar so make sure to get in early, and the gallery upstairs makes for a snug little hide-away when you need to get away from it all. Our menu offers a selection of light lunches of filled baguettes, baked potatoes and croissants. We have soup of the day made in our kitchen as well as our specials board. If you're not tempted by any of these or any of our home made cakes and scrummy sweets, why not try one of our famous home made scones, fresh baked with double cream and jam, or even one of our sinfully gorgeous ice cream sundaes? After indulging yourself, walk it off with a stroll around our Orchard Gardens and browse in our extraordinary planteria.

With its cheeky name this delightful fell overlooking the M6 at Scorton has been a popular viewpoint for generations of Sunday strollers from Preston, Lancaster and Blackpool. Though not particularly high at 215m, its location, between the Bowland Fells and the wide expanse of the Fylde, makes it a superb platform reached with comparatively little effort. Add to this lovely Grizedale and you have all the ingredients of a most satisfying walk.

Explore Lancaster's golden age and rich maritime and natural history.Overlooking the river Lune, and the fabulous Georgian architecture of St George’s Quay sits Lancaster Maritime Museum. The museum is housed in the Port of Lancaster Custom House and warehouse buildings which date from the second half of the 18th century. The buildings along the quayside developed around this time as a result of the success of overseas trade. Alongside of the museum are buildings which belonged to prosperous Quaker slave trader Dodshon Foster. This now peaceful stretch of the river would once have bustled with ship building activity and the loading and unloading of goods.

Central to Lancaster’s artistic, technical and scientific innovation, The Storey, has been re-modelled as a purpose-designed centre for the creative industries. Built in 1898 by local philanthropist and tradesman, Thomas Storey, the building offered educational opportunities to the people of Lancaster. Today, our organisation continues to maintain Storey's philosophy that the building should be a place for the people and inspire forward thinking. For this reason, as well as being home to a growing number of successful creative businesses, we offer a variety of engaging events ranging from business conferences, seminars and networking, to films, music, and theatrical recitals.
