Bass Lake is surrounded by pine trees, and a lovely place to swim, boat or jet ski. While there, we recommend enjoying a burger at the historic Forks Resort on the west shore. Miller's Landing a little further down is a fun place to take the kids for an ice cream.

This is a taste of the sierras, at about the 6500 ft. level, and a nice cool escape from the blazing valley heat in the summer. It's only about 15 minutes beyond Shaver Lake, but like a totally different world of tranquility and nature.
