The best market in the area for the gourmand. Known for its great meat counter, it also features a great BBQ shack (brisket anyone?).

Great way to see a beautiful sunset (or sunrise). It is a short 2.3 miles from The Cottage. My daughter has run to the top and back and my son has cycled the same route. There are two picnic tables in case you would like to have a picnic.
On a clear day, you have panoramic views of the San Diego bay, downtown, and Point Loma to the west. To the south are the Coronado Islands, Mt. San Miguel, and the hills in Tijuana, Mexico. To the east is the El Cajon valley. To the north is Cowles mountain and Gillespie airport.

Julian is part of the 1% of the U.S. that can still see the Milky Way. Its distance from the urban glow of San Diego’s skies and the surrounding mountains allows such sky quality.
