Mesa Verde offers exceptional vegan/vegetarian fare and friendly service in a casual yet elegant environment. They have a large heated patio in addition to their indoor seating. They are conveniently located on Cliff Dr. about two miles from the house.

Family owned and operated since before our family moved to Santa Barbara in 1990, The Rose Cafe is a Mesa neighborhood staple. Their service is famously friendly, their salsas are wonderful, and they are known for their exceptional verde sauce!

Owned and operated by family friends, the Black Sheep would have made our list of favorite restaurants even had we not had this personal connection! With a more adventurous menu than most Santa Barbara eateries, an excellent beer, wine and cocktail selection, and an incredibly passionate and knowledgeable staff, The Black Sheep never fails to disappoint. Reservations recommended Thursday through Saturday.

Don't go if you're in a hurry or too hungry to wait a bit for your food, as it is made from scratch and the service, while exceptionally friendly, is not reliably fast; do go if you want a memorable, old school Santa Barbara dining experience you can't get anywhere else.
