Coal Exchange: 4-5 Mount Stuart Square CF10 5FQ is 2 minutes walk away from the apartment and is where the world’s first million pound cheque was ever written. It is now a luxury hotel and it’s worth popping your head in to see the original features and decor.

Definitely worth a visit. Some of Leonardo Da Vinci’s drawings are currently on display there until 6th May. It also has one of the largest collections of Impressionist paintings in Europe. www.museum.wales or phone 0300 111 2333

This is an open air museum with many houses and cottages rebuilt on site and furnished to show Welsh life through the ages. A really good day out and admission is free.
