This movie theater is further away than the one in La Quinta, but it is located in a beautiful outdoor mall so it's worth the trip. XD viewing options and leather recline seats. Also, the kettle corn here is the best!

The Nest....what to say about The Nest. Well it's surprisingly become one of the nightlife hot spots, outside of Palm Springs which has much more to offer. You will see a mixture of white-haired folks in addition to local kids. This Palm Desert bar is notorious for it's older ladies trying to get younger men, but overall the place is a hoot if you're trying to experience some nightlife without making the drive to Palm Springs.

This is a trailhead with multiple hikes. Our favorite is the one to Lake Cahuilla. Some sand at the beginning then turns to rock. About eight miles, there and back, with only small elevation gain. Bring lots of water as there is no shade. We have seen herds of Big Horn sheep during certain times of the year.

We are about 30 miles to the Southern entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, and worth every mile! This spectacular park is a must-see if you have an extra day to spare. Both kids and adults will enjoying climbing into the maze that is Jumbo Rocks. Pack a lunch, snacks, your hiking shoes, and get ready to explore because you do not want to miss a sunset here.

We are about 30 miles to the Southern entrance of Joshua Tree National Park, and worth every mile! This spectacular park is a must-see if you have an extra day to spare. Both kids and adults will enjoying climbing into the maze that is Jumbo Rocks. Pack a lunch, snacks, your hiking shoes, and get ready to explore because you do not want to miss a sunset here.
This trail is a moderately challenging, 2.6 mile, out-and-back style hike. It has some steep grades for the first half, but flattens out towards the end where you finish at a GIANT cross (beautiful lit up at night). Best of all, this trail is dog-friendly!

Day trip! The cozy mountain town of Idyllwild is just over an hour drive from the valley floor. If you happen to be staying in our lovely desert during the summer, taking a day trip to Idyllwild is a great way to cool off. If you are visiting us during the winter, you can take a snow day! It's a worthy place to spend a day, do a hike, shop, and eat.
