A little farther away is a restaurant located at the end of red dirt road. Situated on the oceans edge and near the oldest lighthouse in all of PEI, the atmosphere is sure to delight you. We recommend calling ahead for reservations and for full effect, try to get seating on the outdoor patio around sunset Please bring a warm jacket or blanket though as the ocean breezes can be quite cold at this time of day.

As a chef, Chef Michael Smiths deepest passion is the preparation and presentation of food from flame and sharing its bounty with others. He dreamed for many years of building a costumed brick-lined, wood-burning, fire-breathing beast that would contain every form of live fire known to man. In 2015 his dream came true. Now he and the Fire Brigade share the ancient art and craft of live-fire cooking in its many aromatic forms in an appliance we call FireWorks. Our restaurant, also appropriately named FireWorks, features a unique Feast format that perfectly showcases a myriad of locally sourced flavours all one hundred percent prepared from the live fires of the Fire Kitchen. This a culinary experience and we recommend visiting their website for full details.

On your way to Montague you may find yourself doing a double take as you pass a herd of Buffalo?! Originally a gift from the Queen, the herd became too expensive for the province to maintain and our Monks now own and maintain the herd. There are lookouts where you can observe the herd as well.

Beaches

We have so many amazing beaches that you simply won't get a chance to visit everyone but we highly doubt any will disappoint.
Nice little local beach but be sure to check the tides before heading out. Low tide is a fantastic time to visit the beach. At the end of our road, make a left-hand turn (this road is called Main Rd) follow this through the harbour until you get to the white church. At this point, you can only make a right or left and this road is called Cape Bear of 18. Make a left and follow this road until you get to Beach road on your right-hand side.

Basin Head Provincial Park is a provincial park located in Basin Head, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
