My absolute favorite hamburger, calamari, and martini! They have outdoor dining on their patio overlooking a water fountain in the shopping center square. Very nice. And - Next to Starbucks!

Wonderful Italian cuisine and feels like a local favorite neighborhood restaurant. Pasta cooked to perfection and dinner salad just the right temperature. I have been dining at the Italian Kitchen for over 40 years. Always so good!

If you like sushi, this is the place to go! Chicagoans drive up from the city to enjoy this restaurant! I haven't been there since the pandemic ensued but I trust it's still as good as it always has been. Casual atmosphere in a strip mall. I have been a fan for 20+ years!

A beautiful view of Lake Michigan and less than a 10-minute drive from the house. There are seating areas along the walkway. You will need to pay for parking as a non-resident guest. Quiet and not crowded most days!

Fort Sheridan was at one time a naval base converted into an eclectic suburban community where the historic buildings were converted into condos, townhomes, and single-family homes. There was new construction at the time it was converted as well. It is also situated on Lake Michigan. It is a few minutes north of Highwood so if you are in the area it's a fun place to drive through. You will see many dog walkers, joggers, etc.

There was new construction at the time it was converted as well. It is also situated on Lake Michigan. It is a few minutes north of Highwood so if you are in the area it's a fun place to drive through. You will see many dog walkers, joggers, etc.

They also host many different festivals throughout the year. Google festivals and / or restaurants in Highwood and you will find much to explore. One of my favorites is the French restaurant Froggy's. They have a wonderful bakery too! Highwood is a 10 minute drive from the house.
