My favourite restaurants
I enjoy food and going out all over town. If you need specific recommendations for a particular style of food, just ask. I'm happy to help. For now here is a list of some of my favourite restaurants...
This is a little hole in the wall spot - nothing fancy - that serves up some great Indian fare. I've never had a bad meal. Did I mention its not fancy! Don't choose it if you want an elegant night out...only if you want a casual dinner or take out.

A lovely spot for happy hour drinks and snacks (their happy hour menu is good also) or a meal (lunch or dinner) inside on the lovely courtyard patio. A little more upscale, but not too. Its a large place with some cozy nooks. They are also accommodating of food intolerance and allergies.

Great little authentic wood oven real Italian pizza. Very simple menu, very casual. Fills up...so call ahead. There are many spots nearby to have a drink while you wait for your table if you go spontaneously and find a lineup. Turnover is usually fairly quick.

Consistently great food, very good service, the owners are great people. They, and their staff, treat you to a lovely evening. Menu changes regularly...check the website for menus and reservations.

Absinthe has been a favourite spot for us for years. Consistently good food. Massive burger, lovely steak frites, the duck and various specials and they have optional to have wine pairings and fixed menus if you so desire. Its a big open room so can be a bit noisy on a busy night. Call for reservations

Massive burger, lovely steak frites, the duck and various specials and they have optional to have wine pairings and fixed menus if you so desire. Its a big open room so can be a bit noisy on a busy night. Call for reservations
Pookies is a lovely little spot not far from here. Pookie herself is in the kitchen with her lovely staff. Beautiful curries, pad thai and other specialties. Eat in or take out. Very casual but pretty

Treat yourself to a great meal - some of the best seafood in the city. Warning...the menu is on the pricey side. Staff are great. Casual - high end. Its a large venue...amazing space and the staff is fun and attentive. They have large bar where you can pop in for some amazing oysters and a glass of wine to relax from your site seeing.
The Whalesbone on Bank Street is their sister restaurant...its tiny but very charming. Check for availability. Seating is very limited.

Why not do brunch and a visit to the Nordik Spa in Chelsea.

Chelsea is one of my favourite spots. Its like taking a little mini vacation. Go for a hike, enjoy the coffee shops like Palmier or Biscotti (see other recommendation), the ice cream shop (also recommended), Les Fougeres (on the list). You could also visit the Nordik Spa for an amazing getaway.
