Always a slight bit crowded in the evenings - this is a good bar if you're looking for a bit more of a scene while still feeling like a normal bar.

This is an old elementary school that has been converted into a compound that contains many bars, bar areas with pool tables, games, a soaking tub, and hotel rooms as well as being a venue. This is a fun, very Portland, bar to come to both in the winter and during summer months. McMenamins are historically known for having bad service and mediocre food, but they have great tater tots and a fun ambiance. Worth checking out for an evening!

Powell's Books is the largest independent bookstore in America and it's huge. A full city block and, I believe, six stories tall? Go to each uniquely colored room and peruse for hours. Great store for purchasing books and souvenirs.

Great for an afternoon. I'd couple this with going to the Rose Gardens (if in season) or a walk down NW 23rd before or after.
This is about a 30 minute drive east of Portland - quite busy and touristy but offers an amazing view and 2.0 mile hike to the top if you want a little exercise. I always get a soft serve ice-cream from the food vendor to top it off!

About a 5 minute drive from the Airbnb - upstairs space is well-lit and gret ambiance.
