Food scene
This is our favorite restaurant. A tapas style restaurant, all dishes at Ember come out as they are ready and are made to order. The menu changes seasonally and the chef uses local produce, meats and cheeses. Monday nights is BYOB with no corkage fee for wines. We love dining on their gorgeous outdoor patio. They do take walk-ins but we recommend a reservation if you would prefer not to wait. Try the Ahi Tuna Nachos!

The Beachcomber is .6 miles north of our cottage on the lake. You can get there by boat, car, or if you're feeling amitious, by foot. This establishment features a sit-down restaurant for traditional dining, a cabana grill and bar. They have live music on the weekends and is a good spot for lake night life. It is kid-friendly until the nighttime hours and has a sandy beach.

It is kid-friendly until the nighttime hours and has a sandy beach.
Rancho Viejo is a good mexican restaurant located in the nearby town of Geneseo, about 15 minutes from the cottage. Traditional style mexican fare with friendly staff and great margaritas. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining and very reasonable prices.

Shoreless Acres is the small local store just next to the grill and has penny candy for the kids and homemade donuts. Serious Food is just north of the boat launch on the East Side of the lake.

Shoreless Acres is the small local store just next to the grill and has penny candy for the kids and homemade donuts. Serious Food is just north of the boat launch on the East Side of the lake.
A good local BBQ joint. The brisket is delicious! Takeout or a small dining room, both indoors and patio area.

Things to Do
This a great place for a family outing. Minnehans is on the north end of the lake. If you travel north on West Lake Road all the way up the lake it will be on the north east corner of the first traffic light you come to.
Minnehans features an 18-hole mini golf course, 4 different go-karts, a discovery zone, driving range, outdoor laser tag, and arcade. They have delicious ice cream and an extensive menu.
Worth the trip for some off-lake activities!

Deer Run Winery has live music on Thursday nights starting at 6pm. The concerts are free and the winery has wine slushies and bottles available for purchase. You cannot bring any outside alcohol but you can bring your own food. They do have local food trucks attend if you would prefer to purchase food there. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy!
It does get crowded. We prefer to sit a little ways back at the concert so it's not too loud and we don't get stuck in the crowd.

Sightseeing
Letchworth State Park, the grand canyon of the east, is a great day trip for the family. The drive through the park is beautiful and there are a variety of hiking trails to enjoy. The views are gorgeous and there are many pavilions and picnic spots to enjoy a bite to eat. Letchworth also has a public pool for swimming.

The views are gorgeous and there are many pavilions and picnic spots to enjoy a bite to eat. Letchworth also has a public pool for swimming.
Stony Brook has always been a favorite of ours. The park has a great hike up the gorge with lots of places to get your feet in the water and a ton of waterfalls. The bottom of the hike has a natural, brook fed swimming pool. There are also picnic areas and pavilions here for lunching.

Stony Brook State Park
10820 NY-36Stony Brook has always been a favorite of ours. The park has a great hike up the gorge with lots of places to get your feet in the water and a ton of waterfalls. The bottom of the hike has a natural, brook fed swimming pool. There are also picnic areas and pavilions here for lunching.
