Several of the Island businesses have gathered together to offer this unique opportunity. You can get married on the boat, on the dock or in the Church. We recommend that you book your 12:30 pm one way passage from Crisfield to Smith Island. You can book your return trip from Smith Island to Crisfield once your on the Island (There will be several choices of Island departure times and boats.). The Church continues to play a significant role in Island life today. Many functions that would ordinarily be preformed by town governments are taken care of either by the churches, by Smith Island United, or by volunteers on the Island.
The Island Churches join together for an annual Camp Meeting in Ewell that runs from the last Sunday in July through the first Sunday in August, with well known Southern gospel groups singing on Sundays. Join the community for preaching at 7 each evening during camp except for Saturday.
