Places To Eat
The Country Club Tasmania has beautiful parklands, lakes and paddocks as well as an 18-hole golf course. There are ducks around the lake that children can feed and there is a lovely playground and horse riding is also a wonderful experience for kids. There are a number of restaurants to choose from and we like the gift shop there, which offers quality Tasmanian products, if you are planning to take unique souvenirs home.

A lovely walkway by the North Esk River. There are many restaurants serving fresh seafood to be enjoyed right by the water. You might even see some students at rowing training!

Sightseeing
The Gorge has walking tracks, a swimming pool, the world's longest single span chairlift, a restaurant, café, a suspension bridge and expansive views. Not to mention the peacocks and native wildlife. Awesome place to visit in summer especially!

The Hollybank Treetop Adventures are a great way to experiencing Tasmania from a different perspective. They have a zipline tour (not to mention the fastest and longest zipline in the Australia!), tree ropes and a kids zip. For people who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, there are segway and mountain bike tours through the forest. One of my personal favourites.
Keep in mind that kids between 3-13 years need a supervising adult, and don't forget closed shoes!

This is one of my absolute favourite places in Tasmania for a day trip. I always find something new each visit. Really fun for the whole family with hilarious jokes littered through the maze, gorgeous painted towns and nice little references to kids stories. Crazy good pancakes too!

A really cool place for sightseeing and learning. Penny Royal has an abundance of cool activities for families that teach about the history of Tasmania. There are also nice places for food and drinks. The Halloween costume competition is super fun even if you're not a kid anymore.

Parks
City Park is one of my favourite places to sit and draw. There are many family activities such as the playground, the short train ride around the park, the duck pond and the monkey enclosure. Not to mention the greenhouse and a giant chessboard!
