Akaka Falls is breathtaking! After parking ($5 visitors) go to entrance ($1 entry fee per person). It is a short walk with beautiful views. Akaka Falls is 422' (135 meters) it is one of the most visited sites in Hawaii. (Kama'aina free) On your way back down the hill make sure you stop at Mana Aloha Farm for fresh cut coconuts and pineapples on the right hand side, they also have nice places for you to take pictures.

This is one of the best places to see the Honu (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle) this water has healoing properties because of the warm ocean water and the cold fresh water vents filled with minerals from from below. Together they make a brackish mixture of water that is refreshing to swimm and walk in. There is a rail for easy entry and most of the time you are there you will encounter the Honu swimming.

Best Kept Secret for the best beaches in Hawaii
The best beaches are located inside the resorts (like Hualalai Four Seasons and Mauna Kea Resort) the good news is that you can go up to the guard shack and ask for "public beach access" and they will let you in with a pass or map for free. There's a little known secret called 49 Black Sand Beach in the Mauna Lani Resort that has good snorkeling and swimming.
