Plan to spend quite a few hours if not all day enjoying the Park. Stop by the Visitor Center on Park near the 62 to purchase a day pass for $30 or annual for $55 and pick up a park map. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Also know that you will not have much, if any, cell service in the park. Favorites of mine are Skull Rock, Cap Rock

Food scene

American food- barbeque with great cheese fries and cocktails. Restaurant bar with live bands. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Located in Pioneertown which has a frontier town feel with a little main street you can walk down and shop. It looks like a western movie set and movies are filmed here.

Small local store with some fruits, veggies and dairy. New ownership has brought mixed reviews- convenient if you need something and don’t want to go up the hill. They carry dates and snacks.

No frills back of the market Taco shop. Very reasonably priced Mexican food and they have a special for $17.99 includes 1lb of meat, tortillas, rice and beans. One of my favorite places for a quick bite.
