Grant's local beer of choice! (he even has the t-shirt!) This is a cool, relaxed spot to pop into for a tasting room, casual food and they even do gigs. A real late afternoon suntrap. Pretty sweet spot really.

MacLean St is the main beach shopping area. But Saturday mornings its home to the Paraparumu Beach Market! This is actually really worth a visit, especially in summer when Lewis Farms bring their famous strawberries and Asparagus!

Kapiti Island is Part of a triangle of nature reserves in the area. A day trip is well worth the trip. A bit of a hike up the hill, so some fitness required, but it's worth it for the views!

The aquatic centre is modern, and has great facilities including a fab hydroslide. kiddies pools and toddler pools available and usually in the weekend the bring out the inflatables. Great fun!

Have you always wanted to follow in Tiger Wood' s footsteps? Well you can. back in the day Tiger played at this course with his NZ caddie Steve. before they had a bust up of course! We watched him through the fence..😉

Triangle House hasn't actually done this yet, but it's on our bucket list. It's a 10k walk along the ridgeline from Paekakariki. It apparently has amazing views, and is getting some Instagram traction! (If that's your thing!) Warning. You do need some fitness for this one, there are many stairs, the track is narrow, and the heights are high! Also, go early in the day before it gets too hot as its all exposed.

State Highway 1Triangle House hasn't actually done this yet, but it's on our bucket list. It's a 10k walk along the ridgeline from Paekakariki. It apparently has amazing views, and is getting some Instagram traction! (If that's your thing!) Warning. You do need some fitness for this one, there are many stairs, the track is narrow, and the heights are high! Also, go early in the day before it gets too hot as its all exposed.
This place is AMAZING. even if you aren't really into cars (or motorbikes/planes/boats/tuktuks/anything with a motor! ) there really is something for everyone here. There is so much to see, allow a couple of hours...

US Marines were stationed here during WWII and there is an interesting exhibition area detailing their time in Wellington. But there is also a cool Tram that you can ride in from the main road down to the beach through the park. It operates 11am-4.30pm Sat, Sun and public holidays.

Summertime fun! This park was upgraded a couple of years ago to include an splash playground. It gets busy, but it's fantastic for the kids. Picnic tables and a short stroll to the beach if needed. Also had the cutest minature ride on railway. The railway runs most Sundays between 1-4pm

Garden RoadSummertime fun! This park was upgraded a couple of years ago to include an splash playground. It gets busy, but it's fantastic for the kids. Picnic tables and a short stroll to the beach if needed. Also had the cutest minature ride on railway. The railway runs most Sundays between 1-4pm
