A very nice area to hang out, lots of shops and eateries around. You can just get a cup of coffee and sit there watching the buildings, people, maybe catch someone famous going to the NBC studios.

Best to go there right before sunset, so you can take the view in daylight and then see the city lights.

This is the place to stay if you are traveling to New York. It would be quite expensive but totally worth it. You will have everything within a few sub stations or even walking and will be in the center of all the excitement of the city!
