It does not matter that you believe that the assassination was an historical fluke, with no particular larger significance. This is The Place where all assassination buffs, conspiratorialists and lone-nutters alike, have to go. This is the necessary pilgrimage.

Parks & Nature
Horseshoe Trails are wonderful if you are looking to take a leisurely walk on paved paths or a aggressive hike on wooded trails. Watch out for mountain bikers are the wooded area's are a local favorite to fast riding.
Wooded trails may be closed depending on if it has rained or not. The trails become very muddy after a rain. Be sure to bring bug spray as the mosquitos here in Texas love tourists.
