Kefalonia is known for some traditional products. Honey is the best *make sure to buy thyme honey from a cellar or a local mini market. Madoles is also a small sweet, local. It is pink, looks like a small stone, but do not worry it is just sugar and almond inside. The pink colour remains on your tongue...hahaha, but is is ok! Eat also a Bougatsa *pie with creme, me beloved is Bougatsa from the shop named "Pollatos", you will find him in Lithostroto. Where to eat: I have already suggested some, but was not easy to find them all in google maps, so please notice: -----o elios tavern, traditional tavern near Spartia village. ----To palio archontiko, very well glilled foods and generaly tasty food, you will find it in Argostoli, next to the central square, in the beggining of Finikodromos (palm trees street) on your left!

Sacred Monastery of Agios Gerasimos of Kefalonia

In the morning probably you can enter the castle and admire it. The view is also very nice and there are some taverns where you can eat.

Nice to swim and relax on the beautiful beach but in summer is over crowded, this is why i suggest Platia ammos beach!

The north place of the island which after the destroyable erthquake of 1953, remained traditional. Beautiful place to spend a day and swim also! Visit for sure the beach named 'Foki' and Dafnoudi beach that i also suggest is before Fiskardo. Alaties beach aslo

Platis gialos, makris gialos exactly next, are near but overcroweded, go very early in the morning or very late an night. In Platis gialos there is a bar at night where you can have a drink. Sometimes they make parties but not that often so it is more quiet most of the times at night.

Amazing beautiful place to swimm, you have to wlk almost 20 minutes to the beach but the view is breathtaking, looks like Myrtos beach.You can use your mean of transport only until a specific place, the you have to walk.
