Muir Woods Reservation!
Muir Wood’s National monument requires advanced parking reservations through their online system. If the parking lot is already fully booked there is a shuttle that also requires reservations both to and from the park. If you cannot score either of these hiking the Dipsea Trail over to the park is a lovely scenic option for those in good shape. But be aware cell phone coverage is non existent and you will not be able to get a Uber or Lyft back.

The downtown Mill Valley bus stop provide service south to San Francisco or Sausalito ferry as well as north to Santa Rosa, Napa or elsewhere.

Parking enforcement
The meter maids are particularly good at their job in Mill Valley. Always remember to feed your meter and not overstay the time limit posted or you will receive a parking ticket.

Driving
Crime is basically nonexistent in Mill Valley California. Therefore our friendly area law enforcement do not really have much to do to fill their time. This is basically code for extreme enforcement of all moving violations. Always make a complete stop. Always yield to pedestrians. And always grab a Uber, Lyft or taxi if you have had too much to drink outside of walking distance.
