Your nose will guide you to a great bakery with delicious pastries and fresh and varied day-to-day. Just across the street is a coffee shop owned by the same family, and the coffee was equally as wonderful. The owner and the employees are warm and welcoming.

One of the most legendary souvlaki joints in the city, and always crowded with locals and tourists alike. Here you can have pork, chicken, sausage or bifteki in your pitta for little cost.
If it's crowded and you just want a souvlaki or two, get a takeaway and eat it further down the road at Monastiraki Square.
The nearest metro station is Monastiraki, only a couple of minutes away.
