Parks
This is a lovely, scenic park with lakes and is located 1.2 miles from our Meadow duplex! Ride your bicycle over! Visit and watch eagles dive for fish while you keep an eye out for our resident elk . See Independence Day Fireworks held yearly at Green Valley Park. Attend fun, free Saurday evening concerts in the summer, walking path, swing sets, fishing , and more.

This lovely area comes complete with a restaurant, bar, grill, and horseback riding stables. Horseback riding is seasonal and includes one and two hour rides. The riding trail travels thru our shaded mountain pines and it is not uncommon to see elk and deer! Call ahead for reservations, children are welcome.

The water wheel is a beautiful hike surrounded by boulders with a running stream year-round. For those in shape, a hike up to the waterfalls is a must see. The truly daring like to jump from the boulders into the cold mountain pools below. Not me! Care should be taken during monsoon season To avoid flash flood

Travel to Roosevelt Lake and rent a pontoon boat for you and your family. Fishing is great there, as well. Drive the Apache Trail located near the Roosevelt Dam

Learn and exercise at the same time. Homeschoolers can combine fun and school and make this a project! Visitor center has displays, a park ranger to answer your questions, videos etc, Great for families! The hike up to the ruins is a workout, so bring water.

Wonderful excursion on the Desert Belle Narration Cruise. See the Desert Bighorn Sheep on the banks while you drink primo refreshments and nibble popcorn.

Food Scene
Twenty minutes drive to Pine. Great pizza in an outdoor space. We watched a bull elk herd his cows across the street for 2 hours one evening while we ate and drank! It was awesome.

This place has great food, great service, and their outdoor patio is wonderful during the spring, summer, and fall. You can walk to it from our Meadow duplex in just a few minutes!

Wear good, non-slip footwear, as rocks are often wet and can get slippery. Bring lots of water and pack in a picnic. Great family place, but not so good for the littler ones.
