This is actually a pub, but has a large restaurant at the back serving an interesting and seasonal menu. A beautiful location with a summer house and terrace for the summer, just 5 minutes by car from the house, and a 20 minute walk.

The most authentic Japanese food and Sushi outside of Japan we've ever had, with a great atmosphere. Very popular with students, they don't do table bookings - you just wait in line and they'll seat you. Be prepared to sit at a large table with other diners. Sushi night is Thursdays only, and it's best to check opening times as they have limited opening hours.

Parks & Nature

This stunning circular walk takes you directly from the house into the Oxfordshire countryside. You'll encounter a nature reserve, and walk along the brow of the valley until you get to one of the best places for a view of the entire city. This is a well kept secret among locals and you may only see one or two people on your walk.

Entertainment & Activities

This is the UK's first board game cafe! They have the biggest collection of board games I've ever seen, and expert waiting staff who can get you a coffee and a sandwich and also teach you the rules of the game! There's a cover charge per person so you don't have to buy food or drink. Booking a table in advance is recommended, especially in term time.

Oxford's only outdoor swimming pool dating to the 1930s, this is a really great, heated pool with a large grass area with deck chairs and sun loungers for enjoying the sun. The pool is divided for families and serious swimmers so you can always swim in peace at any time of the day. Open April-September. We recommend arriving early on weekends if the weather is good.
