OMG. The best coffee on the mountain, BY FAR. Worth the drive. Comparable to Peet's coffee. If you know what that means, you're probably already addicted! (It’s usually got just coffee, btw.)

Privately owned and run... local scene, good coffee, yummy pastries and food, cute shop, great outdoor seating, nice people. It's our only coffee shop in the area, but boy, is it a good one!

Very tiny, very magical, and very diverse (politically speaking, that is)... we like to rent a boat on the lake for $11 and hour, and then have something cold to drink on the porch of the Black Dog Shoppe; you can even hang out with the black dog. It's a little slice of Mayberry, but in the woods! There are great hiking trails nearby, too.

This spectacular 3,400-acre area of forest is named for the trees planted there in the wake of the 1970 Bear Fire. Each one bears the name of a child who revived it and is part of some of the most beautiful backcountry in the San Bernardino Mountains.
