Great walks.

Less than 15 minutes drive away or a lengthy picturesque walk up the river is Dedham. Dedham is the heart of Constable County where the Artist John Constable lived and painted. The area is rated as some of England’s most beautiful Lowland landscapes. Head to the Boathouse restaurant where you can go boating on the river Stour. Enjoy a walk along the river with a choice of pubs to recover in afterwards; The Sun Inn and The Marlborough (the latter being dog friendly and same Managers as The Red Lion in Manningtree). There are also the Tea Rooms to have afternoon tea in and a few craft shops to visit.
