A close beach and about a 15 minute walk to this beach. There are toilets here and a cool cafe called Lilo Cafe. It is featured in my photo collection and is probably the closest beach cafe to the unit. Located at 1/725 Esplanade, Mornington.

Yummy food is served here, with a theme of seafood. There are 2 options of food both at different price points. My favorite is The Rocks! bookings needed. You will probably drive here, though it can be walked in 35-40 minutes.

Horse Races

It's a special location and a country-style racing club. Keep an eye open for the race dates and other events hosted here. https://mrc.racing.com/plan-your-visit/mornington-racecourse

Sightseeing

This is the closest beach and about a 5-10 minute walk. You do have to go downstairs to get to this one. It's very quiet and has some amazing rock pools for the kids. There is enough sand to sunbathe too. I think it's worth following google maps for this. My directions are as follows - leave the front door, walking to the left of the property and up to the Esplanade (2mins). Cross the road slightly to the right and walk through the trees onto the coastal track. Then turn left and walk till you find the stairs.

This is probably a full day trip, so get your walking shoes on. Check out the website and make sure you are fully informed on times for bues etc This has to be a complete surprise when it comes to local history and the second world war. Explore the bunkers and try to imagine how people lived and were stationed here. There is also a quarantine station dating back to when ships sailed people here in the 1800s. Basically, you had to be quarantined for diseases such as TB and small pox. https://www.parks.vic.gov.au/places-to-see/parks/point-nepean-national-park?utm_source=google&utm_medium=maps&utm_campaign=GMB-2020

A beautiful playground for children, located at the end of Main Street and the Esplanade. There is usually an ice cream van too. Toilets are located near by.
