Food scene

This is the best breakfast in Pinehurst. Blueberry pancakes are the most popular item on the menu but don't sleep on the sausage and fried eggs either. The small cinder block diner is open until 12:15 PM and its CASH ONLY. Closed on Mondays.

The Deuce is the place to grab food at the main clubhouse. Stop in here after your round or before you hit the Thistle Du putting course or The Cradle. If the weather is good, try to sit outside on the patio to watch the groups come through the 18th hole on No 2. Prior to COVID-19 restrictions, the buffet was killer. Fingers crossed that it returns soon. For entrees, check out the Philly cheesesteak, reuben sandwich or the BLT.

If you're a foodie, Elliot's on Linden is your place in Pinehurst. They take reservations which is a bonus, especially in the high season where tables can be hard to come by. The pork schnitzel is their most popular main dish but the bison and elk also get a lot of attention when I take friends there.

I do not recommend dinner here as the food is just okay and the service is quite poor. However, the bar and patio are a pretty good hang to enjoy late night drinks.

Ironwood is my go to location for folks who are looking for a good steak. Its less formal than most high end restaurants - don't hesitate to come here straight from the course. Steak, wine, dessert...all great.

Really solid pub-like environment. Good food and beer selection. They don't take reservations and the space is quite limited. If you can't get in, walk over to Dugan's where there's more room.
