With this tram /line 1 only/you can also get to Villa Joiosa - where you will find a very picturesque and colorful architecture and a nice beach too. Using the same line 1 /changing into line 9 in Benidorm/ yo can make a trip to Denia. It is about 90 km from Alicante so you must reserve all day. It goes along the Costa Blanca so you can see some nice mountain and coast views. But it can be a bit exhausting. Anyway you can get off on any stop and catch back tram to Alicante:).

It will also take you to famous mosaic passage Esplanade de Espania and big Alicante marina. These are rather touristic spots but worth seeing. The same way on foot will take you 15-20 minutes.

Santa Bárbara Castle
In the close neighborhood you should definitely go to Santa Barbara Castle - nice walk up the hill /or take a lift from the beach side/, from where there is a really stunning view to Alicante and the area. I would recommend Archeological Museum /just 3 minutes walk/ where you get some views on Alicante history. There is also an interesting Iran civilization exhibition which is ending in September
