Drinks & Nightlife

Unfortunately, if you are looking for clubs and parties, Sagada does not have those. But if you are looking to just grab a beer, talk with strangers, and jam with locals, these are places I would recommend.
Small touristy bar in town. Packed during the high season, usually space-y during the lean season. Grab a beer, have a cocktail, listen to reggae music, talk to strangers... Would usually close at 10pm - curfew hour.

Are you down for some local craft beer and grilled sausages? Then this is the place for you. It is in the middle of the woods and at the outskirts; you could hire a shuttle or walk under the stars.

Sightseeing

A central figure in the Mission Compound. Originally part of the 'Mission', a product of American Episcopalian evangelization in the area which also brought about St. Theodore's Hospital and St. Mary's School, it retains its walls and base made of cathedral rocks; it's roof which used to be made of pine wood shingles was replaced with galvanized iron after being bombed by tracer bullets during the 2nd World War. It is one of the oldest buildings in Sagada which existed at a time when the town was considered an industrial town ahead of its neighbors including the city of Baguio. This church was meant to be a replica of the church with the same name in Manhattan, New York.

Lodging

Sagada is but a small town in the cold mountains of Northern Philippines. There are no extravagant hillside resorts or posh five-star hotels in this locality and instead one would find only inns or homestays hosted by local families.

Adventure Experience

Pongas is located at the southern part of the town where the waterfalls multiply in number during the rainy season. You may book a guide and a shuttle to take you there. However, the best way to experience this natural attraction is through canyoneering. Simply booking the tour takes you to the last waterfall of a series (11 in total). Look for those who offer the canyoneering experience and you can rappel down all the different waterfalls, climb the ridges, see the views that all end up in Pongas.

Coutumes et culture

Always ask permission before taking pictures.

If you take pictures of people, especially of elders, always ask their permission. If you find yourself witnessing the proceedings of a cultural ritual, keep your distance and again, ask permission if you would like to take pictures and videos.
Se déplacer dans les environs

Sagada is a walking town.

EDIT: 2023 - There already tuk-tuks in town to help you get around. But we still recommend everyone to walk; and take the bus instead of bringing your own car -- to alleviate the traffic in our narrow mountain roads. There are no tricycles or "tuk-tuks" in Sagada as we are all encouraged to walk. You may opt to hire scooters (motorcycles) at: Papyrus Merchandise, Log Cabin Sagada, or Ayeona's Souvenirs. Families and big groups of friends may opt to hire shuttle vehicles (vans and jeepneys).
