No trip to Cambridge would be complete without a punt along the river Cam. It is a magical way to see the colleges. There are various places along the Cam where you can hire a punt or have a guided punt tour. Champagne and strawberries are optional!

Shopping

The market is a little quiet nowadays after the lockdowns we've had but it is still bustling especially on a Sunday. Some amazing street food available, local produce and crafts too.

Leisure

The largest unheated lido in the country. If you're brave enough to try it, its freezing even on the hottest day but such a lovely spot for a family picnic!

Cambridge Locals!

This a wonderful pub! Stacks of real ales and ciders, outstanding bar food, homemade Scotch eggs and sausage rolls, chips with curry sauce too. There are two restaurants and an updated outside area. The beautiful building dates back to 1830m and was once a home of the novelist EM Forster. Booking is essential.

Nowhere quite like this on a summers evening. The rooftop bar is the place to be seen, a little bit of Cambridge glamour. Can get very busy and cocktails are pricey but perfect for pre dinner drinks.

Drinking and thinking hub where Watson and Crick announced they had discovered 'the secret of life', DNA. Dating back to 1667 and packed with history, The Eagle boasts a ceiling in the back bar graffitied by WWII airmen, A window at the back of the pub has been open for 300 years - because it's believed a child died in the pub during a fire when the window couldn't be opened. A must visit.
