You've just got to visit Snooty, the oldest manatee in captivity and possibly the oldest manatee in the world! Snooty is awesome! the planetarium and museum are pretty darn good, too.

Anna Maria Island is a great place to spend the day. White sandy beaches, quaint beach town vibe, boutiques, restaurants. Very touristy with its own special vibe :)

YOU. MUST. VISIT. DETWILER'S! This is my first stop when I get to town.,, I'm like a kid at Christmas time in this locally owned Amish farm market! Fresh local veggies, fresh bakery, butcher shop, fresh seafood, sandwich station, deli, homemade salsa and guacamole, local grass fed beef and dairy... and you can't leave without a scoop of locally churned ice cream at $1.29 per scoop! Try the ice cream sandwich (between two freshly baked chocolate chip cookies). So good!
