A great place to go for something to eat or drink - lots of lovely bars and restaurants in the marina, along with a few shops and great views. Slightly out of the city so would require a car or taxi ride to get there - loads of free parking there.

One of the best Chinese and fish&chip takeaways in the city - you can call in advance and request extra crispy fish and chips which is our favourite! Reasonable prices compared to places along the seafront and much better quality.

Fantastic all you can eat Brazilian rodizio buffet (tapas style dishes brought to your table during Covid). BBQ meat skewers brought straight to your table and carved for you. Located in the scenic Port Solent marina.

For 2+ people it’s cheaper to take an Uber or local taxi (Aquacars or CityWide) rather than buses. Much faster too!

The city is completely flat so it’s very easy to walk or cycle - make sure you pack comfortable shoes or bring a push bike for longer visits

Save money by buying your historic dockyard ticket online in advance. You can also get a free “site ticket” after midday where you can walk around for free, although you can’t enter the boats/attractions without paying. Good for a quick look around.
