It’s also a lovely place to sit and watch all the beach action.

Getting around

There are several ‘tuk tuks’ that go up and down the road throughout the day. This is an easy way to travel around Watamu. Willy is a great local “tuk tuk” driver if you want to call and order one beforehand. His number is +254 711 861 386 Alternatively, call Njuguna Taxi Service - 0722895752 or Branson, a taxi driver, on +254 734 616656, and he will happily drive you if you want to go further afield.

Floating, kayaking & stand-up paddleboarding in the creek

The current takes you all the way from the mangroves, through the creek, to the ocean shore where you’ll end up on short beach. Floating can only be done a few days of the month, around the full moon, and early in the morning when the tide goes out to the sea. Tribewater sports can help you plan all the above.
