Favorite and oldest Japanese restaurant in Seattle. Make sure you make reservations, otherwise Grandma will turn you away at the door (even though the restaurant has seats). Another option is to sit at the bar since it's first-come, first-serve. Definitely order the black cod!

This is like a grocery store that only sells beer. It's dog and kid friendly, so we go there a lot. There's usually a food truck outside, and the Taco Sotelo food truck parked next door. If you love beer, this is your place.

If you like indie pop dance parties and it's a Saturday night, this is the place for you. It's also the closest dance spot to the apartment. If memory serves us right, it's a $5 cover. It's a lot of fun, but there's terrible HVAC so it gets HOT. We recommend the few extra dollars for coat check, otherwise, bring a jacket you don't care about because most people 'hide' them by the windows and gets mistaken by the end of the night.

Mt Baker Station is about 3.4 miles away, but if we are going to and from the airport, we usually stop here instead of Capitol Hill. From the Mt Baker stop, we normally either take the 48 bus to Cherry St and walk the 7 blocks to our street, or we would call an Uber/Lyft from here, and vice versa.
