The Beach trail at Torrey Pines lets you walk back to the car on the beach. There's also the clothing optional Blacks Beach nearby. Some walk from Torrey Pines, but I hike down from Hangliding Point.

This intermediate hike is a local staple. I would hike it once per week during my fit days. Pets and kids are allowed. 1.5 miles out and back takes about 2 hours. Drink a bottle of water and take 1 or 2 with you. There's a lot of areas at the top to take in the views while eating your fruit or trail mix.

Drink a bottle of water and take 1 or 2 with you. There's a lot of areas at the top to take in the views while eating your fruit or trail mix.
Any given day you will catch locals hiking the front stairs, back stairs, and the trails overlooking the water of the Convention Center. If you're lucky you may get caught in the Padres baseball, Rady's Shell Amphitheater, or Comic-Con crowds!
