Bowness is a thriving little town halfway down the lake shore of Windermere. Enjoy a coffee at one of the many independant coffee shops and wander down to the Lake side to catch the Steamer up the Lake to Ambleside.

This peninsula on the River Kent Estuary is a gem.Interesting independant shops, bakeries and deli's. The Blossom Bird in Silverdale is a favourite after a walk on the beach or up Arnside Knott.

Whatever age you are this is sooo worth a visit!! It is incredibly well done. My personal favourite is Jemima Puddleduck who ruffles her feathers every now and then.
