The marais is like a small village in the heart of Paris: a lot of charming small streets with several shops, restaurants, etc. That's also the most gay friendly neighbourhood. Really great walk.

There is a lot of tourists but the atmosphere is so quaint. The view is beautiful from the "Butte" and the Sacré Coeur. All around, each street is charming even if a "few" stairs are waiting you !

Expect to find a lot of tourists here too but the castle is majestic! If the weather is with you, the garden is absolutely beautiful (the french style one as the english style from Marie Antoinette)
