Charley Young Beach is one of my favorite beaches on the island. It is attached to Kamaole Beach I, which makes it a huge beach! It is beautiful, has luxurious sand, stunning views, and is generally not overcrowded. Best of all, it's only half a mile from the house!

Ahihi Bay is one of the best spots for snorkeling on South Maui. Sometimes called "The Dump" or "Fishbowl", Ahihi has beautiful coral, lots of varieties of fish, and almost always sea turtles.

Spinner Dolphins frequently pass by La Perouse Bay early (SUPER EARLY) in the morning. Additionally, this site offers incredible views, amazing snorkeling, and the trail head for the King's Highway hiking trail which continues south along the coast for several miles.

If you SCUBA dive then Makena Landing is one of the best spots in Hawaii and almost certainly the best spot in South Maui. From the beach follow the coastline to the right and you'll see caves, incredible coral formations, all types of fish, turtles, eels, octopi, and there's even a couple of small reef sharks that live there!

Haleakala National Park boasts some of the most amazing views, incredible hiking, and varied landscape that you can imagine. While very popular for watching sunrise (which is stunning) and biking tours down the mountain (which is not something I personally recommend because it's less fun than you might think--and more dangerous), less people go for sunset which I think can be equally as incredible as sunrise. If you like hiking and are in decent shape, Haleakala Crater offers dozens of miles of incredible trails--but be warned, they can be difficult, and the elevation makes it much harder!

The black sand beach at Waianapanapa State Park is one of the most picturesque places on the planet! The park also contains some caves, a blowhole, restrooms, and camp sites.

Ka'anapali Beach is one of the nicest beaches on all of Maui! It has a great boardwalk that you can walk along, and at the end is Black Rock that you can jump off of if you're daring!

Makena Beach, or Big Beach as it is known, is a beautiful beach! One of the best beaches on Maui, but there's no facilities (other than port-a-potties) and there can be a very strong shore break, so be careful!

Fabiani's is one of the best, reasonably priced restaurants in all of Maui. They have an on-site bakery where they bake amazing pastries fresh every morning, they have a full bar, and they offer incredible Italian food throughout the day! Their happy hour special is amazing!

Sarento's is at an amazing location. The restaurant looks right onto a beautiful beach. They also have amazing breakfast! Generally I've found their dinner to be overpriced, but what you're really paying for is the view. Sarento's at sunset is amazing!

This restaurant is fairly new and probably not well known, but they bake their own bread and have really great food! They're also very reasonably priced.

Mama's Fish House is probably the best restaurant on Maui. They're pricey, and they're far away from my house, but they're so delicious and have such an amazing view that I just have to recommend them to everyone.

Monkeypod is a great restaurant and bar straddling Kihei and Wailea. It has some great drink options, and their truffle oil brussel sprouts are amazing!

Milagros is a great little Mexican restaurant in Paia. Good food and reasonably priced. They have excellent fish tacos!

There are three very good Thai restaurants in Kihei: Maui Thai Bistro (which is very popular but I've found their food and service to be hit or miss), Royal Thai Cuisine in Azeka Shopping Center (which closed down and reopened as another Thai restaurant), and Thailand Cuisine. Of the three locations I've found Thailand Cuisine to be the most consistently delicious Thai food in Kihei. It's also inexpensive and very close to my house!
